With the win, Williston-Elko High improves to 9-8 overall and 8-3 in region play. The Lady Blue Devils are in third place in the region behind Blackville-Hilda High and Hunter-Kinard-Tyler.
Williston-Elko coach Eva Strong said the team is playing well at the right time of the season.
"Right now, I think we're playing our best basketball and it comes right at playoff time," Strong said. "Tonight we got off to a sluggish start tonight, but our intensity on both ends of the court increased as the game progressed. This was another good team win. Hopefully we can keep the momentum going as the playoffs approach."
Both teams struggled shooting at the start of the contest, combing for only six points in the first quarter.
However, in the second quarter, the Lady Blue Devils heated up behind the play of Corley. Corley scored eight points in the quarter to put the team ahead at 15-5 at halftime.
Leading 15-8 at the start of the second half, the Lady Blue Devils pulled away with a 17-5 run to take a 32-13 lead with eight minutes left to play. Kyla Coleman highlighted the run, scoring six of her eight points in the quarter. Jalen Reed had four points in the quarter.
