Carolina Shockers exhibition game

The Carolina Shockers are heading to Orlando, Florida for the AAU International Championship.

The Shockers have two teams - a 14 and under team and a 10th grade team with players from Barnwell, Bamberg, Allendale, and Orangeburg counties.

Their season began in March and they have competed tournaments in Charlotte, Atlanta, Aiken, North Augusta, Augusta, and Orangeburg.

The 10th grade team played in the Championship Game of the Silver division in the Atlanta Hoop Fest and the Championship game of the War in the Gardens in North Augusta.

The 14-and-under team went undefeated in pool play in Charlotte before losing in the semifinals in bracket play.

An exhibition game is set for Saturday July 8 at Barnwell High School against the Orangeburg Xpress to showcase the teams before heading to Orlando.There will also be a 3 -point contest. The event will kick off with the Barnwell vs Bamberg Alumni game. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m. with the games beginning at 3 p.m..

Admission is $5.
