Bell hired as BHS varsity baseball coach

Chase Bell has been hired as the new Barnwell High School (BHS) Varsity Baseball Coach.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education Mathematics from USC-Aiken in 2013. He has three and half years teaching experience.

“Coach Bell is a life-long student of the game of baseball and has a passion for Warhorse Baseball. His energy level, coupled with a tremendous work ethic, is contagious to the people around him,” said BHS Principal Franklin McCormack,

As a 2009 graduate of BHS and a three-year starter at shortstop for the Warhorses from 2007-2009, Coach Bell was a member of four region championship teams and three district championship teams; a 2009 All-Region Selection; and the 2009 John Hall Award Recipient. Additionally, he was a three-year starter at second base for Orangeburg Post 4.

He has been coaching the BHS JV Baseball Team for four years – one year as an assistant and three years as the head coach. Coach Bell is currently the head baseball coach of the Hampton Post 108 American Legion Baseball Team. He has also served as a varsity assistant football coach at BHS for the last two years where he coached wide receivers.
