The Allendale-Fairfax High Tigers got the best of the Williston-Elko High Blue Devils by a score of 52-46 Wednesday night in the Devils Den.

Trailing 38-35 entering the fourth quarter, Allendale-Fairfax heated up and went on its game-deciding 17-8 run.

For the Tigers, it was Bernard Owens who singlehandedly buried the Blue Devils in the final eight minutes. Owens went on a scoring tear with 10 points, including a three-pointers. Owens finished with a game high 29 points on 12-of-20 shooting, including five three-pointers and nine rebounds.

Owens said the team needed a lift and he was happy to come through.

"I'm happy to get a win anyway we can get one," said Owens. "It was a team effort tonight. I couldn't get did what I did without the help of my teammates."

With the win, Allendale-Fairfax High improves its record at 3-2 in the season.

Allendale-Fairfax High head coach Brandy Bury said he was proud of his team effort.

"I thought the difference in the game was our defense and rebounding especially in the final quarter," Bury said. "Our main goal was to stop their top scorer who is Buster Walker. Walker is a terrific scorer and I thought we did a good job o f limiting his chances at the basket."

The loss drops Williston-Elko High to 1-2 in the season.

For Blue Devils, it was a game of missed opportunities. Trailing 44-40 with 3:19 left to play, Williston-Elko connected on only two-of-13 of its final shots to end the game.

Blue Devils senior forward Antonio Walker led the team with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Walker said the team just came up a little short.

"We had some good looks at the basket, but nothing would fall," Walker said.

For the Tigers offensively, Jermay Carter had eight points, Raheen Federick scored seven points and Anthony Eady added six points.

"I also thought the stretch where we made a good offensive run in the final quarter was also very key to us winning. Benard Owens played a big part in our offense tonight. He is one of our players who have really stepped up his game lately," said Bury.

For the Blue Devils, Rokeem Williams had a good, all-around performance with 10 points, seven steals, six rebounds and six assists. Darryl Salley finished with six points and nine boards. Shamel Harley registered seven points, five assists and four rebounds.
