Barnwell Dixie boys baseball team pounds Elloree, 9-1

Justin Wyndham was the top pitcher in Barnwell's win over Elloree.
The white team for the Barnwell Dixie boys baseball didn't hold any punches as they pounded Elloree by a score of 9-1 June 3 at Fuller Park.
The White team ripped Elloree for 13 hits. Barnwell had four different players collecting a least two hits apiece. Leading the bats were Justin Wyndham, Zach Massengale and Rylan Still with three hits apiece.
With the victory, Barnwell improves to 7-2 in the season.
Wyndham had a good all-around performance also earned the win in the starting role as the pitching. He allowed three hits, no runs, one walk and six strkeouts.
"Right now, I think we're playing pretty good ball," Barnwell coach Robbie Massengale said. "So far this season, our hitting has been our strength. We do well putting the ball in play and scoring runs."
Barnwell energized the scoreboard early with two runs in its first at-bat. For Barnwell, Still was the first base runner, reaching safely on a single. One batter later, Taylor Boyleston put Barnwell on the scoreboard with a triple to deep center. Moments later, Massengale belted a single, scoring Boyleston for a 2-0 lead.
In the second inning, Elloree sliced the lead in half, scoring a run off a hit and a error for a 2-1 deficit.
After going scoreless in the second inning, Barnwell bounced back in the third inning. Justin Wyndham got the troops going with a lead off double.
Two batters later, Still rifled a pitch to the outfield, scoring Wyndham. Massengale then brought Still home with a double. Massengale later scored a scraficed by Ben Brown for a 5-1 lead.
In the fourth inning, Barnwell's lead ballooned to 7-1 on runs by Wyndham and Boyleston. Jay Baxley and Jared Grubbs each were credited with an RBI during the inning.
In the following inning, Barnwell finished off by adding two more runs to its lead. For Barnwell, Wyndham and Still scored. Baxley was credited with an RBI.
