The Jefferson Davis Academy varsity girls basketball team tamed the Lady Bulldogs of Bowman Academy by a score of 40-37 Jan. 26 in Blackville.

With the win, Jefferson Davis Academy snapped its four-game losing streak.

JDA coach Clint Inman said the team need to get out of the slump.

"It was a great team win for us tonight. No doubt this gives us a big confidence boost," Inman said. "We came out and did a good job of establishing ourselves on both ends of the court."

For the Lady Raiders Lauren Neeley was the top offensive performer with 11 points and 10 assists.

The Lady Raiders also had several other players turning in strong performances. They included Darcey Hollday with seven points and 12 rebounds.

Katie Baltzeger had a good all-around game with eight points, seven assists and six steals. Gabby Bates totalled six points, five rebounds and five steals. Branna Owens collected six points and eight rebounds while Khadejia Hallingquest pitched in two points and three steals.
