Mix, Myrick wed

Miss Grace Cathryn Mix and Major William Edwin Myrick IV (U.S. Army) were married October 14, 2017 on the steps of Fripp Plantation, St. Helena Island, Beaufort, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Biff Poggi, the bride’s uncle and aunt. The officiate was The Reverend Lee A. Clamp, the groom’s youth pastor while serving at First Baptist Church of Barnwell.

Miller, Nobles to wed

Diane Miller of Hilda and Ralph Miller of Williston are proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Tiffani Dawn Miller, to Jaret Weston Nobles, the son of Jade and Pam Nobles of Barnwell.

The bride-elect is a 2017 graduate of Orangeburg-Technical College with an Associate degree in Radiologic Technology. She is currently employed at South Carolina Orthopedics in Orangeburg.

Tiffani is the granddaughter of Mr. & Mrs. Enos Yoder of Hilda and Mel & Esther Schlabach of Kokomo, Indiana.

Mr. and Mrs. Daryl Rosier of Barnwell are proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Ashton Rochelle Rosier, to Christopher Bryan Inabinett. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Inabinett of Barnwell.

The bride-elect is a 2014 graduate of Aiken Technical College. She is currently employed at Hitchcock Healthcare in Aiken.

The groom-elect is a 2006 graduate of Barnwell High School. He is currently employed at Energy Solutions in Barnwell.

The wedding is scheduled for 5 p.m. on May 5, 2018 at Duncannon Plantation.

Pritchard, Sandifer to wed

The families of Ashley Pritchard and Brandon Sandifer are proud to announce their engagement and forthcoming wedding.

Ashley Alaine Pritchard is the daughter of Cammy Moody of Barnwell and Derek and Anneta Pritchard of Springfield. James Brandon Sandifer is the son of Tara Carrigg Sandifer and Chris Sandifer of Blackville.

The bride-elect is a 2014 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in Education and is employed as a teacher at Barnwell Elementary School.

St. John Baptist Church (1660 St. John Road, Barnwell) will celebrate the 9th Appreciation Celebration for Pastor Audrey Lofton on Feb. 25 at 3 p.m.

Morgan is a 2012 graduate of Jefferson Davis Academy and 2014 graduate of the University of South Carolina-Salkehatchie with an Associate in Science and an Associate in Arts. Morgan is employed with the Town of Blackville as the Utility Clerk.

James Riddick Moody born on Dec. 13, 2017

Josh and Kaitlyn Moody of Barnwell are proud to announce the birth of their son, James Riddick Moody.

He was born at 3:03 p.m. on December 13, 2017 at Regional Medical Center. He weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces and was 19.3 inches long.

Paternal grandparents are Jimbo and Dana Moody of Barnwell. Paternal great-grandparents are Ronald and Patsy Reece and James and Esther Moody, all of Barnwell.

Maternal grandparents are Michael and Kathy Watkins of Barnwell. Maternal great-grandparents are Rick and Patsy Surles of Allendale and Sonny and Kira Watkins of Summerville.

Julia Gavin turns 95

Julia Deer Gavin celebrated her 95th birthday on Monday, January 29, 2018.

She was born on January 29, 1923 out in the country about a mile due east of Sycamore. She is the fifth of eight children born to Louis R. Deer and Rachel Sue Brant Deer.

McMaster, Grubbs announce engagement

Mr. and Mrs. James Fleming McMaster III of Barnwell are proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Ashley Sloan McMaster, to Samuel Len Grubbs. He is the son of Mr. Michael Grubbs and Mrs. Jennifer King of Barnwell.

The bride-elect is a 2013 graduate of USC-Aiken with a B.S. degree in nursing. She is currently employed at the Allendale County Hospital.

The groom-elect is a 2012 graduate of USC-Beaufort with a B.S. degree in business. He is a self-employed farmer.

The wedding is planned for April 21, 2018 in Barnwell.

Weston Hutson born Dec. 15, 2017

Tripp and Lauren Hutson of Barnwell are proud to announce the birth of their son, Weston Folk Hutson.

He was born at 2:23 a.m. on December 15, 2017 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. He weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces and was 19 inches long.

Ashby Heltibridle turns 5

Ashby Garnet Heltibridle celebrated her fifth birthday on December 19, 2017.

Ashby is the daughter of Bobby Heltibridle and Ashley and Britt Pender, all of Barnwell.

She has three brothers, Kobey, Craig, and Clay and has two sisters, Isabel and Shelby.

Grandparents are Tammy Thompson, Ken Miles, Donnie and Sandy Pender, and the late Phil Thompson Jr.

Great-grandparents are Harriett and Everon Collins of Hilda.

Baylee Marie Hunt-Dyches

James Dyches and Kathy Hunt are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Baylee Marie Hunt-Dyches.

She was born at 7:53 a.m. on December 13, 2017 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. She weighed 5 pounds, 7 ounces and was 18 ½ inches long.

She has two brothers, Johnathan, 17, and Landen, 4.

She also has two sisters, Selena, 16, and Perla, 14.

Crews, Frederick wed

Hannah Wren Crews of York and Philip William Frederick III of Williston were united in marriage on October 7, 2017 at Lifeway Church. The Rev. Mark Crews, father of the bride, officiated. The bride was given in marriage by her parents, Mark and Robyn Crews.

The bride’s dress was a floor-length champagne colored mermaid gown with a lace cathedral veil. The bride carried a bouquet of cascading roses and mixed greenery.

Macie Boyd of York served as maid of honor.

Frederick, Byars wed

Lauren Elisabeth Frederick of Williston and Jason Edward Byars of Aiken were united in marriage on September 10, 2017 at the home of the groom’s aunt and uncle, Rev. and Mrs. Keith Ussery. The Rev. Keith Ussery officiated.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P.W. Frederick Jr.

The bride’s dress was lovely and flowing softly of pure white chiffon, gathered with an empire waistline. The floor-length gown swept into a cathedral train.

Kiersten Jhene' Davis born Aug. 24, 2017

Whitney and Kian Davis are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Kiersten Jhene’ Davis.

She was born on August 24, 2017 at University Hospital of Augusta, Ga. She weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces and was 21 inches long.

Paternal grandparents are Angela Davis and Curly Tuck of North Carolina.

Maternal grandparents are Betty Odom Bell and Ernest Nimmons of South Carolina.

The Church of the Holy Apostles annual chili supper is Saturday, Dec. 2 at 5 p.m. (after the Christmas Parade) in the Parish Hall. Eat in or take out. Chili, cornbread and dessert for $8.

Allendale ALIVE Forum

Celebrate the season with Allendale County ALIVE, Inc. at their 19th Annual Forum on Tuesday, December 5 at 7 p.m. in the James Brandt Building Auditorium (398 Barnwell Hwy., Allendale). Board elections will be held and there will be program updates.
