BARNWELL - Mary Lee Plunk, 80, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026.
Mary Lee Plunk, general administrative foreman for SRNS Carpenters, was born October 4, 1945 in South Carolina to parents Kite Rountree and Sally Mae Rountree.
She grew up in a large family alongside her siblings Perry, Cora Lee, Marie, and Rachael. She later married James Hugh Plunk, a U.S. Navy veteran and supervisor at Burlington Industries.
Together, they resided in Barnwell, South Carolina, and raised daughters Debora Sue and Beverly Ann.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at 3 p.m. in Seven Pines Baptist Church, with Pastor Mark Watford officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell County Cemetery by the airport. The family will greet guests one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Honored to serve as pallbearers are James Zawacki, Nikki Jackson, Charles Jackson, Logan Adams, Chad Bolen, and Greg Prather.
Ms. Plunk is survived by her daughter, Beverly Plunk; grandchildren Gregory Lee Prather, Haley Lauren Prather, Jacqualine Birchmore, Brad Cochran, Danielle Moncrieft, and Katelyn Cochran; great-grandchildren Channing Moncrieft, Silas Moncrieft, Elijah Moncrieft, and Harlow Sue Taylor. She was predeceased by her daughter, Debora Sue Cochran.
