Geronia Johnson is officially off the clock.
July 26, 2024 marked Johnson’s retirement from SRP Federal Credit Union (SRPFCU) as the front line service supervisor at the Barnwell branch. She served 18 years with SRPFCU.
“Geronia has been a blessing to myself, our team, and members at SRPFCU for 18 years,” said Barnwell branch manager Angela Cotton. “We wish her many blessings in her retirement and wonderful times spent with her husband John and family.”
Johnson started working for SRPFCU as a teller on June 6, 2006.
“She came highly recommended by Cliff Rodgers from her previous job at the Winton Inn,” said Cotton.
Many SRPFCU members looked forward to seeing Johnson’s smiling face behind the counter when they visited the Barnwell branch. However, she also is active in the community.
“Geronia has a passion for God and little children. She is active in her church, Rosemary Baptist, and any community activity that SRPFCU participated in,” said Cotton.
Family, friends, her pastor and church family, and co-workers came together to celebrate Johnson on July 20 during a retirement party, just a few days before her last day of work.
“God has blessed me. I thank everyone that I have ever worked with at SRP,” said Johnson.
July 26 was doubly special as it also marked her 24th wedding anniversary to her husband, Johnny Johnson Jr.
