CLEVELAND, GA - Ruby Collins Langley, aged 85, of Cleveland, GA, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on April 21, 1939, in Barnwell, S.C., Ruby dedicated her life to caring for others. She grew up in Elko, S.C., and attended Mt. Calvary Baptist Church as a child. She was also a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Barnwell. Her faith was her stronghold throughout her life.

She graduated from the South Carolina Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1960 and began a distinguished career as a nurse that spanned over 40 years. Known for her compassionate spirit and unwavering devotion, Ruby worked at the Barnwell County Hospital, Burlington (formerly Barwick), and Clariant (formerly Sandoz), where she touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues.

Ruby was also a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, Bobby (Alicia) Jordan and Candina Butcher; grandchildren, Caroline (Kenny) Hutchings Turner, Charlie Hutchings, Seger Jordan, and Jack Butcher; and great-grandchildren, Delilah Turner and David Turner; and other family members who will forever cherish her memory. 

A celebration of Ruby’s life will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 10574 Highway 37, Blackville, South Carolina 29817.
