BARNWELL - Stelva Jean Driggers Webb, 86, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 23, 2024. She was born on January 30, 1938, in Florence County, S.C. to the late Winston Dillon Driggers and Elizabeth Caroline Tunstall Driggers.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, George Lee Webb Jr., and her two sons, George Lee Webb III of Greenville, S.C. and John Winston Webb (Jennifer) of Hartsville, S.C. and two granddaughters: Caroline Tunstall Webb and Ann Parker Webb. Her sister, Claudia Driggers Hayes (Bob) of Aiken, S.C. also survives her, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Amy Elizabeth Webb, and two sisters, Carolyn Driggers Allen and Shirley Driggers Barnett.
She graduated from Barnwell High School in 1955. She began her career in Philadelphia, PA before returning to Barnwell. She retired as a valued administrative professional from Milliken and Company after 40 years of employment.
Stelva was a faithful member of Barnwell First Baptist Church where she served on numerous committees. She enjoyed supporting local charities, poetry, and sewing. Multiple generations of new mothers have been fortunate to receive one of her handmade heirloom blankets. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 4 o’clock on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery on Highway 278 near the airport. Mole Funeral Home is caring for the family.
