BARNWELL - Bailey Montford (Monty) Morrow Jr., age 72, of Barnwell, S.C. passed away following a brief illness.
Born in 1953 in Austin, Texas, Monty grew up in a proud military family, the son of the late Bailey M. Morrow and Mary Morrow. He is also survived by his brother Bobby Morrow and wife Pam; and his sister-in-law Linda, wife of his late brother Mike Morrow, and a lot of nieces and nephews. Monty also leaves behind his lifelong best friend Donnie and Donnie’s wife Kim.
Monty dedicated over 25 years of his life to the Savannah River Plant, serving in Health Protection. His steadfast commitment to safety and service left a lasting impact on his colleagues and community. After retiring at the age of 60, Monty embraced the peace and joy of home life, pouring his heart into projects around his home and property.
A man of unique passions, Monty found great joy in pigeon racing, a hobby he pursued with unwavering dedication. He leaves behind more than 180 pigeons, lovingly raised and cared for and are immediately for sale.
Monty was a devoted husband to Nancy K. Morrow. He is survived by his three children and their families:
Monty’s legacy of strength, humor, and hard work lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A visitation was held on Friday, the 18th, at 12 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church at 110 Franklin St. (Red Door Hagood) followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m.
