Blackville Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting bring Christmas cheer

The Town of Blackville was merry and bright on Saturday, Dec. 14. 

The town thanks all participants and volunteers, including Santa Claus (Andre Patrick), judges LaShawn Milledge and Audrey Howze, announcer Joshua Saxton, grand marshal Clay Walker, police department, Earthel Walker and the town employees, and helpers Fonda Patrick, Aimee Owens, and Kenley Pernell. 

Winners of the parade were: 

  • Group Entry – Senior line dancers
  • Individual Entry – Imani Jones (Beta Club)
  • Religious Entry – Blackville Christian Bookstore
  • Marching Entry – Bands of Barnwell County
  • Car/Truck – Corvette Club
  • Non-Commercial – Gleaton’s Construction Co. 
  • Best Overall – Blackville-Hilda High cheerleaders

Following the parade, everyone gathered around the town’s Christmas tree for the tree lighting service. The town thanks Pastor Ken Frederick, Victor Jones, Minister Dennis Pernell, Clay Williams, Mayor Ronnie Pernell, and Rep. Lonnie Hosey for participating. 

The Together Sisters provided the food and drinks for all to enjoy after the lighting ceremony.
