BARNWELL - Bonnie A. Cheek was born January 14, 1941 in Barnwell County. She entered into eternal peace during the early morning hours of April 9th, 2025.
She was the daughter of Rosa Ashley; the wife of William Cheek, and the mother of Vickie, Thomas (Zack), and Richard Taylor. She was affectionately known to many in her family as "Aunt Bon". Her life was her spent enjoying simple things; her family, cooking, reading, especially history, and most all things nature related. Nothing gave her greater joy than growing beautiful flowers. So much of her time, throughout the years, was devoted to gardening. She considered it therapeutic. Whatever your issues in life, "playing in the dirt" would make you right as rain. A woman of strong convictions, you always knew where you stood with her. It was not necessary to share her convictions; because she enjoyed a good debate. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
In lieu of flowers, family, and friends may make contributions to a favorite charity in her memory.
Graveside services will be held at 3 o’clock p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Barnwell Memorial Cemetery (by the airport) with the Reverend Sam Miller officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Folk Funeral Home in Williston. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be David Berry, Joshua “JJ” Hill Jr., Bryan Randall, Chuck Randall, Jamie Randall and Jason Randall. Honorary pallbearer will be Wayne Fort.
