BLACKVILLE - Funeral services for Brenda Hudson Jones, 73, of Blackville, S.C. were held at 11 o’clock a.m., Friday, January 24, 2025 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, S.C. with the Reverends Ken Frederick, Paul Locke and Dr. Thomas Terry officiating. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. A private family burial was held at the Blackville Cemetery in the Jones Family Plot. Honored to serve as pallbearers were Mike Gamble, Kevin McCormick, Mike Morrow, Rio Renaud, Brandon Rutherford, and Brantley Rutherford. Brenda passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025.
Born in Dunlap, Tennessee, she was a daughter of the late Paul Hudson and Idel Griffin Hudson and was married to John Morris “Johnny” Jones for 37 years. Brenda was a member of the Blackville First Baptist Church, previously worked at DuPont in Tennessee and also worked in Transportation for the Blackville and Williston Public School Systems. Brenda also previously worked at Anthony’s Restaurant in Barnwell and worked along-side of her husband Johnny at the family farm, Jones “Jo-Jo” Farms. She loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed spending time in the mountains.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny Jones; daughters, Shannan Goforth (Rick W.) Tilson of GA, Melanie Renaud of Asheville, N.C. and Valerie Rutherford of Charlotte, N.C.; son, Johnny (Jennifer) Goforth of S.C.; grandsons, Rick “Wes” Tilson, Benjamin “Porter” Lesesne, Rio
Renaud, Brantley Rutherford, Brandon Rutherford; granddaughters, Hudson Goforth, Josie Goforth, and Summer Rutherford; brother, Ronnie Hudson of GA; sisters, Lana Faye Lofty, Sue Anderson, Avis Pickett, all of Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Betty Jones and Betty Joye Newman; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Randall Shell and Terry Shell; a sister, Judy Harris; and a brother-in-law, Billy Jones.
