ULMER - Joseph Michael Bootle, age 60, died March 25, 2024.
Mr. Bootle was a native of Fairfax, and the son of the late Ambrose Bootle Jr. and the late Mary Elizabeth Thompson Bootle.
Michael grew up in Fairfax and attended Fairfax First Baptist Church. He was called “Michael”, “Big Mike” and “Bootle”. He loved to lift weights, martial arts, and reading. He loved music and singing. He always followed the local bands and musicians like Jim Ashley, Nick Webb, White Cap, Moxie, and Medicine Hat, to name a few. He had several jobs in his life, but he loved to be a bouncer at Bailey’s and Mrs. Bea’s. He was an only child, so he enjoyed meeting and making friends.
He is survived by one daughter, Lottie Elizabeth Battle, and grandchildren.
Graveside service was held 5:30 p.m., Friday, May 10, 2024, at Fairfax Cemetery.
