BARNWELL – Matlee Holder, 76, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025 surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 3 p.m. at Dyches Funeral Home Chapel, Barnwell, S.C. officiated by Pastor Arnie Shipp and Pastor Travis Holder. Burial will follow at Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery, Ellenton Street, Barnwell. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February, 19 from 6-8 p.m. at Dyches Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Joey Ayer, John Lane, Rusty Jackson, Tim Hooker, Addison Holder and Christian Warren.
Matlee was born in Barnwell to the late Luther and Ruby Owens. She attended Hope Community Church. Matlee loved to spend time with her sisters, talking on the phone and watching WWE. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and will be missed by many.
Survivors include her three children: Travis (Tammy) Holder of Gaston, Michael Holder of Barnwell and Richard Holder of Barnwell; two sisters: May Holder and Annie Owens of Barnwell; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She is predeceased in death by her husband, Bennie Lawrence Holder Jr.; two brothers, Luther Owens Jr. and Willie Owens; one sister, Helen Dyches.
The family has entrusted Dyches Funeral Home and Crematory with the arrangements.
