WILLISTON - Funeral services for Patricia “Pat” Ray Rucker, 87, of Williston, S.C. will be held at 12 o’clock noon, Thursday, November 7, 2024 at the First Baptist Church of Williston, S.C. with the Reverend Joseph Sanders and Dr. Stephen Burnette officiating; burial will follow in the Williston Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6th at Folk Funeral Home, Williston, S.C.
Pat passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, November 3, 2024.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: David Bazzle, Tommy Boyleston, Manny Clingerman, James Dennis, Lee Glass, Terry Glass, Greg Hindman and Lloyd Ward.
Born in the Flat Creek Community of Lancaster County, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Mitchell Ray and Mary Ghent Ray and was married for 51 years to the late Hugh “H.D.” Rucker. Pat graduated from Barnwell High School. She was very active in the community, she enjoyed playing bridge and hand and foot with friends. She was previously a member of Winfield Heights Baptist Church and later became a member of the First Baptist Church in Williston where she spent countless hours in the kitchen helping out wherever she could. She was a charter member of the Williston Rescue Squad and was a member of the Ivy Garden Club of Williston.
Survivors include her son, Gregg “Guppy” Rucker of Sandy Run; daughter, Susan R. (Ricky) Creech of Barnwell; an adopted son, Allen (April) Fillyaw of New Market, TN; grandchildren, Amy (Randall) Gregory, Dustin Rucker, Emily (Brian) Croft, Amber (Brad) Fulghum, Brittany Lawson, Dalton Rucker, Mitchell (Caitlyn) Fillyaw and Morgan (Michael) Morgan; 21 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, husband and son, Hugh Mitchell Rucker; she was also preceded in death by her 2 sisters and a brother.
