At the conclusion of the 2024 spring cheerleading season the Palmetto Cheer Elite (PCE) Senior Legacy and Junior Prodigy squads, led by coach Amy Williams, traveled to Orlando, Florida to compete in the D2 Summit held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort. The D2 Summit was held May 10-12, with only the best teams invited to participate.
“Teams competing at The D2 Summit must receive a bid at a prior competition to be eligible to participate,” said Brian Elza, co-general manager for Varsity All Star. “That’s what makes The D2 Summit so rewarding for the competitors. If they don’t climb their way to the top throughout their season, they won’t make it to The Summit.”

The Senior Legacy team comprised of Kip Robinson, Haley Grace Furr, Kenleigh Ridgeway, Cayson Austin, Sara Rudd, Graclyn Rice, Skylar Zorn, Jenny Nguyen, Molly Wilson, Caylee Davis, and Journee Ford had a great showing finishing in 6th place and barely missing the top 5 and an entry into the finals by .5 points.
This was the first year for the PCE Junior Prodigy squad to earn an invitation to the D2 Summit. The Junior Prodigy team is made up of Kintley Bolen, Eliana Cruikshank, Sydney Jackson, Shelby Jackson, Harper Joye, Emma Faye Baxley, Luke Maverick Williams, Brhettlee Hutto, Sophie Bowers, AbbiGray Smith, and Chloe Tucker. The Junior team placed 29th at the competition.
PCE head coach Amy Williams was asked about her teams competing at the D2 Summit and she said, “Receiving a bid to compete at the D2 Summit held at Disney World is a huge feat in itself. We dealt with a few hiccups that cost us some points, but overall I was a happy and proud coach. PCE has only earned bids to compete at Summit three times and this is the first year that both Elite teams earned bids. Although our adventure was cut short due to seniors missing the top 5 with only a .5 difference in raw scores, the teams represented their small towns well.”
Congratulations to Coach Williams and to both the Senior Legacy and Junior Prodigy PCE teams for earning an invitation and for having great seasons. No doubt, both teams will get future opportunities to compete at the D2 Summit competitions. Great job PCE!
